Have you ever wanted to learn how to tap, or rekindle your passion for percussive dance? This Halloween themed workshop introduces participants to the technique, vocabulary, and social traditions of tap dance - all in a supportive and FUN enviroment. Class inlcudes a warm-up, technical instruction, and choreography set to a spooktacular playlist. All skill levels are welcome. Tap shoes or prior experience is not required! Dance-friendly costumes encouraged!

About the Instructor
Meet Joseph Lyons-Wolf (he/him)
Joseph Lyons-Wolf is an interdisciplinary movement artist currently residing in the greater Indianapolis area. His body of work includes directing and choreographing for regional theaters, education and engagement for Disney on Broadway, and university dance instruction. His academic background includes a B.M. in Musical Theatre from Oklahoma City University, an M.A. in Educational Theatre from New York University, and an M.F.A. in Choreography from Jacksonville University. Joseph's creative work is centered in queer theory and somatic practice while his research interests include de-colonial and culturally-rooted pedagogy for jazz and tap dance as well as dismantling the gender binary in musical theatre choreography. Joseph currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Musical Theatre, Jazz, and Tap Dance at Ball State University. www.josephlyonswolf.com

Indy Movement Arts is located at 4011 North Pennsylvania Street. Please park along Pennsylvania Street and enter the building via the double door that face Pennsylvania Street. You will see our IMAC and DANCE signs in the windows. Please wear clothing you can comfortably move in and bring water.
