Have you ever wanted to learn how to tap, or rekindle your passion for percussive dance? This energetic workshop introduces participants to the technique, vocabulary, and social traditions of tap dance. The session will consist of a warm-up, technical instruction, and choreography geared toward the development of rhythmic precision, clarity of sound, and personal style in a supportive environment that is inclusive to a variety of movement backgrounds. Instruction is based in de-colonial and somatic pedagogy that celebrates the cultural roots of the genre. Tap shoes or prior experience is not required! 

Do you love tap dance and want to level-up your technical skills? This fast-paced workshop is designed to challenge experienced dancers in a joyful and affirming environment. The session will consist of a warm-up, conditioning, across the floor, and choreography. The facilitation will include a range of technical difficulty which grants dancers agency in shaping their individual class experience. Instruction is based in de-colonial and somatic pedagogy that celebrates the cultural roots of the genre. Prior experience in a percussive form is highly encouraged, tap shoes are not required.
