Open Stage
Made possible by
The Allen Whitehill Clowes Charitable Foundation

Indy Movement Arts is so thrilled to announce Open Stage, a new opportunity for local dance makers made possible by the Allen Whitehill Clowes Charitable Foundation. Through Open Stage, we will produce new and experimental work by local dance makers in our home at the Basile Opera Center. Through this program, selected artists will not have to pay a dime in venue rental fees, will receive a $250 stipend, and keep 100% of ticket proceeds.

Join Indy Movement Arts Collective for our third and final Open Stage performance of 2026, Madness II Method, on September 25th & September 26th at The Basile Opera Center. This evening of performance features Open Stage artists Koi Roi, Sawyer Harvey, & Sockie Phommachanh.
The Open Stage program is made possible by The Allen Whitehill Clowes and presented by Indy Movement Arts Collective in partnership with Indy Convergence and the Indianapolis Opera.
Madness II Method explores the space between improvisation and choreography; moving between chaos and structure, concert dance and street dance, freedom and repetition. In this performance, Koi and Sawyer utilize waving to bridge the gap between these contrasting elements!
Dance is a language. Each movement is a letter, each phrase a word, and each sequence a sentence. Every style speaks that language differently, using its own vocabulary, rhythm, and form.
What happens when those languages collide?
Maybe movement freedom isn’t found in choosing between madness and method but in discovering & exploring the space between them!
